The path to the "SS Castle" at Wilton. Oil on canvas. I frequently walked the path from Eston to the "SS Castle" at Wilton. Note: The "SS Castle" was just a name that we used as children for what is really part of what remains of the old iron ore mining ventilation system.
The Picket Line - Oil on canvas. Back in the 1970's industrial anarchy ruled on Teesside and this is my painting depicting that time. I've included myself, family and friends as the main characters in this work. My Dad is the character in the foreground rolling a cigarette and appearing neutral.

Walking with Miles and Milly to Roseberry Topping - Oil on board. The story behind this painting is that every week, together with my brother-in-law Miles Thompson and my cocker spaniel Milly, we would spend an enjoyable day walking in North Yorkshire. Sadly both Miles and Milly have now passed away and I really do miss them both so much. Miles was the perfect walking companion, always caring, cheerful and optimistic, a real gentleman and I feel privileged to have known him and to have been considered a friend. Milly was a faithful and lovable dog with a lovely temperament, she was a beauty, what more can I say. Anyway my painting is a commemoration of our happy times together.
Walking with Milly to Eston Nab Oil on canvas. One of our regular walks
Winter walk - Oil on canvas. This painting reminds me of the many times that I had to stop and remove the impacted snow from Milly's feet and ears. It got so bad that I eventually brought her some snow shoes like the huskies wear. Feet were then OK, problem solved, her ears we just had to live with. Couldn't make her wear a head scarf could I?
